Last weekend Kye made a purchase at IKEA with money from the Grandma's.  He decided on an art easel with some water colors.  He is really into mixed media (water colors + stickers + markers). Painting is a pretty big part of the day at the Montessori school, so hanging above our dining room table is some of his modern works of art.

Ice skating in the mall

Yes, in the mall.  Kye had an adventure to the mall to ice skate a few weeks ago.  I really wanted to take him to try out his skates but had reservations about going to the mall to ice skate.  Ice skating is best done in a stinky hockey rink or outside on a pond, not at the mall.  My fears were confirmed when we got there.  First off, it was overpriced and second, there was way too many people.  We gave it a shot anyways.  The little guy did not last too long before wanting to return to the fire engines and race cars that he could sit in and drive.
