Well, it seems that the days of the old ski swaps are dead. No more can you show up at your local ski area, spread your blanket, and sell your used ski gear. Now, ski "swaps" are these enormous events with tons of sponsors that are somewhat reminiscent of a circus. On Friday we went to the ski swap in Portland at the EXPO center to find little man some used boots and a helmet. It was quite the scene, bands, indoor ski jumps, trampolines, a posse of cheerleader like girls handing out free stuff. In all the sensory overload, Kye managed to find this little exhibit advertising Skibowl's youth ski classes called "Mogul Busters". He wanted to give it a try so we suited him up with the skis and boots they provided and tossed on his used helmet we had just bought. He seemed to be right at home on the skis so we will see what this season brings.
