Well, on Saturday morning my wife's boss stopped by and helped me hull the countertop (~230 lbs) outside for grinding. If you watch the movie you will understand why it needed to go outside. It is much trickier than I imagined to grind the countertop evenly, but I am pretty pleased with the progress so far. I added a piece of slate to the integral soap dish as I was not happy with the depth. Hopefully these pictures will start to prove that I am not making a time consuming ugly hunk of concrete.
The makeshift plastic skirt did not keep me dry!!!
